수풀 우거진 뒷산을 오르다

유난스레 곧은 나무 한그루

다가가 보니 목마른 전신주

자라고 시드는 것들 틈에서

잎새도 가지도 다 내려놓고

기억만 옹이 진 부동자세로

너는 어떤 임종을 꿈꾸는가

네가 견디는 것은 무엇인가

내가 너에게 물어도 되는가

물어도 되는가 내가 너에게

At Closer Gaze It Betrays Itself

As I was walking up the hill

I met a tree robust and tall

at closer gaze it betrays itself

a straightly hewn electric pole

Without a leaf to sway at winds

or any crooked twigs and boughs

amid the crowd that grows and thrives

then wither away like injured bows
